Hello lovely Believe&Inspire readers! I’m finally back to blogging in full flow, Alhamdulillah, although I’m a little late and that’s because I JUST got my laptop. The old one died just TWO days before the exams! I know those were some tough times.
Anyway, I have couple of projects in progress which you will be viewing soon. Excited? I know I am to share them here. 😀
Now let us come to today’s topic of discussion…it’s something HUGE for me, okay I already revealed what is it in the title but allow me to express myself again in a totally ME way:
I GOT TO GIVE A LIVE APPEARANCE ON HUFFINGTON POST LIVE THIS MONDAY! Omgosh! Can you believe it!?!?!?!? I’m still shocked myself but yes it DID happen, and out of NO WHERE!
So, here is how it started:
It was just a normal start of the day. I was checking my email after the morning prayer and as I scrolled down I saw this email from the producer of Huffington post live. The title was somewhat like; “date of the appearance followed by Huffpost Live Appearance Request”. Reading that I had this confused expression on my face so I opened the email still wondering like seriously?!??! This can happen to me??!?!?! You know that situation when something is too awesome to believe in? That one awesome moment right out of your dreams?!? Yes, dear friends! It was THAT moment!
After a quick scan, my eyes literally popped out with EXCITEMENT! Because it was REAL! I wasted no time in replying back. Like who would right? After a few exchange of e-mails we were all set, with a rehearsal at 9:30 pm followed by the actual thing at 12:30 am 14th Jan.
The segment was put together in response to the research by Michigan University and published on pew research about how people in Muslim countries prefer women to dress in public.
What I had to do was share my views on how Muslim women actually dress.
At first, I had a mini connection and warm up session with the very sweet producer, which was totally fun. We chatted for like 30 minutes and I enjoyed EVERY bit of it. 😀
Surprisingly, I was not nervous at all in the rehearsal but I don’t know what happened I became so nervous in the final thing. Akh, and its SO OBVIOUS! Blah >.<
You can watch the whole video here.
I really enjoyed connecting with everyone from all around the world, got to hear feed-backs on twitter mostly negative which totally cracked me up. And, I think its just a matter of getting used to and slowly people would get used to interacting with veiled faces with time and further globalization.
So, let me know what you guys think, and ofcourse if I was good enough or not. Hehe. xoxo
