Okay, it’s finally here! In this post I wanna make an announcement about an up-coming series about sewing bags. Wohoo!
I started off my sewing with dresses, moved to pillow covers, curtains and finally bags and pouches. Hands down bags are my most favorite things to sew. I’ve designed and sold a lot of bags till now and with every bag there was something new to learn. Old techniques replaced new techniques which are lot easier and give more professional look, and I will be sharing those new techniques here with you girls.
I had been planning on this series for quite a while (around 3 months), but just didn’t know the right time to start. I had a couple of posts in mind, but, I didn’t want to make any announcements until I was done writing them all, because if I ever plan on doing a series, I eventually lose the enthusiasm and after one or two posts I don’t feel like writing more. So, this time I delayed the announcement until I had everything prepared at the back and scheduled to be posted. (A pat at the back for me :D)
Initially I wanted to call the series “Take your bags to the next level” but, dang! That’s so long. So, I opted for something shorter and sweeter that is “Bag Sewing Secrets”. Nice right?
The series will start from next week; that is on Monday 29th the first post is going live.
Here are some of the topics that will be covered:
- How to make perfect and sturdy straps
- How to sew boxed corners easily
- How to sew recessed zippers
- How to add zippered pockets to bags
- How to attach magnetic snaps
Another fun thing is, my friend Gina from Gina’s Craft Corner, who’s an expert at sewing bags (I seriously love her color combos) will be guest posting one of the posts. What will the post be about? Well, I’m gonna leave it as a suspense. 😉
