I had been planning on sharing these pictures for so long! Last school holidays we went to one of the most popular destination in Malaysia a.k.a Langkawi Islands. Oh it was SO BEAUTIFUL! The water was so clean and BLUE, making such a beautiful contrast with the lush green islands.
The island is quite BIG, actually. You have to access it by ferry at Kuala Kedah, Kuala Perlis or Penang. and
We first took a RM48 bus from KL to Kuala Kedah, from there we took the ferry which costed us RM 22. You can also book the ferry online from their website here.
The “it” place of the island which is the tourist hub is quite far from the ferry station. It’s called the Cenang (pronounced as Chenang) beach. That’s where you get all the hotels and fun stuff like para-sailing, island hopping, car and bike rentals, food, aquarium. You can get packages for almost all the things right from Cenang beach.
Holidays at Langkawi Malaysia
Our trip was for two days but you can actually get done with the whole place in one day. We were actually bored the next day, as we didn’t have any interest in other things. We went for island hopping, para-sailing and jet skiing. I enjoyed the max in ofcource para-sailing because I just LOVE to fly; and the view was breath taking from up there.
In island hopping they take you to five different small islands in an hour. You get 10-15 minutes on each island, and you can also watch the eagles hunting for food there. An exciting sight!
The rates can vary from one shop to another by RM 10-20. So if you want the cheapest rate you would have to look around a bit.
It’s really difficult to find a hotel at night, so it’s better to either book in advance or arrive in the morning. We did the most stupid mistake and took the morning bus from KL and arrived at night. And in our excitement we booked hotels for two nights. >.<
Everything on the island is duty free, so you can buy gazillion chocolates at very cheap price. :D:D
The other thing I loved to shop were the clothes, ofcource! They were so soft and light, perfect for the hot weather.
In all, the trip felt really good! It felt like a completely different world with no worries, where everyone’s happy. I would definitely love to go again.
