DISCLAIMER: I’M NOT A MUSLIM SCHOLAR, I’M JUST AN AVERAGE MUSLIM GIRL SO I MIGHT HAVE MADE SOME MISTAKES OR FORGOTTEN SOME POINTS, IF YOU HAVE MORE KNOWLEDGE AND YOU THINK I’VE MADE SOME MISTAKES FEEL FREE TO COMMENT BELOW AND I SHALL UPDATE MY POST.
With all the Islamophobia and attack on Muslims going around the world, I think it’s my duty to inform my readers about the fact that Muslims and Islam are NOT what the media and terrorist anti-Islam groups are portraying them as. I know all this because I am a Muslim, brought up and living in a Muslim community.
1)A Muslim believes in the Oneness of Allah. There’s no god but Allah and Muhammad (SAW) is the messenger of Allah. A Muslim submits himself completely to Allah and follows exactly what Allah commands him to do.
2) Coming to what Allah wants from Muslims and what kind of Muslims will be admitted to the Paradise I would like to share these 12 verses of Quran from the chapter Al-Furqan(63-77. Point to be noted here is that Allah DOES NOT command any Muslim to KILL AN INNOCENT HUMAN BEING no matter what religion on ethnicity they belong to as per what some non-Muslims think.

3)Islam is a religion of peace and the Muslim greeting “Assalam-o-alikum” itself means “May peace be upon you”.
4)Most people around the world think that terrorists with long beard and cap or turban are Muslims, well guess what, THEY AREN’T! Yes, the media is feeding you lies. I know because I’m a Muslim and my entire life I’ve read that killing an innocent person is the FIFTH MAJOR sin in Islam. Not even a minor it’s a MAJOR SIN. Here’s a verse from the Quran that tells us in clear words killing anyone is WRONG.
4) Muslim men don’t beat their wives. -_- In my entire life I did not see my dad EVER talking to my mom in a loud voice let alone smack her. There are some barbaric and savages in every society who are illiterate and don’t respect women but that doesn’t mean all Muslims are like that or it’s a Muslim thing to do. The cause of this is illiteracy and cowardice NOT religion.
5) Islamically, you CAN’T force someone to convert to Islam. Allah NEVER asked the Muslims to do so and the Prophet (SAW) NEVER did it; those who are doing it are going against Allah and surely they will be punished for it by Allah SWT unless they repent.
6) The halal way of slaughtering animals is NOT cruel. Why? Firstly, because it is the way declared by Allah who is the Creator of everything, since he’s the Creator He knows what’s best for each and every creature on this earth. I understand if you have conflict with this statement. Don’t worry some people have done some in-depth research regarding this topic. You can read all about it here, here and here.
Lastly, things that some barbaric groups around the world are doing in the name of Islam are not representing Islam the right way. They are just defaming the religion and they are not Muslims in the first place. All they want to do is to spread the wrong view about Islam by calling themselves Muslims. So my advice to you is please do your own research, talk to the Muslims around you, get to know them rather than buying what the media is feeding you.
