Hello girls! I’m writing this post as a request to help me battle Facebook’s policy of showing news from the Sew Some Stuff page (or any page in particular) to as less followers as possible.
You must have heard how Facebook keeps on releasing a new updates which automatically adjusts your news feed to certain limited things that you are interested in based on your recent interactions. For example, even if you have clicked “like” on the Sew Some Stuff facebook page you would not be able to see all of the posts on the page. To make sure that you see most of all the updates on Sew Some Stuff, facebook requires you to constantly like, comment, share or click on the post. When you interact with the posts by liking, commenting and sharing, you tell Facebook that you really like seeing the updates from Sew Some Stuff.
Have a look at what actually goes on behind the scenes:
Every time I share something, out of 7.5k people only a hand-full get to see the post and that’s because there’s no interaction. They actually want me to pay to them to make the post visible to more of the people who liked the page.
This is certainly not fair for me or any of the small businesses who have almost no advertising budget. First of all they want us to pay to get “likes” and then they want us to pay to get “interactions”.
But….
There’s a way we can actually beat facebook. And that’s where you girls come in.
How can you help?
Well, there are several ways that you can help in increasing the reach.
1- Select “get notifications”
First thing you can do is check mark “get notifications” option for the Sew Some Stuff page or any page that you love and would like to support.
When you click on the option this box will pop up. Here you can select what all type of post updates would you like to be notified with. And once you receive the notification you can straight away interact with the update and tell Facebook that this post is worth sharing.
2- Get posts in your news feed
I know notifications can be annoying some time, so here’s a better option. If you opt in to see updates from Sew Some Stuff at the top of the news feed, Facebook is always going to show the Sew Some Stuff update to you without having to scroll down.
To do this, click like tab and a drop down menu will pop up. From there, select the “posts in news feed” option.
And then this window will pop up. From here select on “see first” and then just click done.
Now every time you see a post interact with it by “liking”, “commenting” or “sharing” it. This way when Facebook sees that some people are actually interacting with the post, it will make the post visible to other people as well, thus helping in getting a better reach WITHOUT having to pay to Facebook.
I invite you all to visit the Sew Some Stuff Facebook page now and drop some likes and comments. Or you can even share the posts on your wall or in a group.
Together we can fight this Facebook policy and help each other.
And lastly, once again I would like to thank you all for all the appreciation you have shown by following on all the social medias, sharing and pinning posts from Sew Some Stuff. It really makes my day and acts as a doze of motivation to keep moving forward. *Big virtual hug*
