Earlier my straps used to be like THIS! *cringe* So, if you are facing the situation that I was going through once upon a time then keep calm and read on.
So, what do you need to make perfectly sturdy straps?
A strap piece. Length can be of your choice but the width should be 4″.
Other than that you need soft fusible interfacing the same size as your strap piece.
LET’S BEGIN!
Fuse the interfacing and strap together.
Take your strap piece, fold it into half and press.
Open, and fold the outer edges inwards to the crease and press.
Fold from the crease and press again.
Do an edge stitch on both sides. And you’re done. Super awesome sturdy straps, long lasting than ever before!
Super simple right! That’s the end of the post where I showed you how to sew super simple and easy bag straps that are long lasting. Thanks for the tips! Sometimes when I’m sewing the strap closed, I find that it starts shifting and by the time I’m half way (sometimes even before that), it’s shifted so much that I have to rip out the seam and start over. If it happens again (like it did on a recent project), I just keep sewing and end up with little puckers along the straps. It’s frustrating. any ideas?

I suggest using even feed foot. Sew down one side and then reverse direcction.
